Liquid Crystal Fridge/Cooler Thermometer Strips 0-12C
Refridgerators should be kept at between 3°C and 5°C for safe storage of food as well as maintaining its quality for as long as possible. Below 3°C foods lose their flavour and some may degrade due to freezing. Above 5°C the chance of bacteria taking hold is higher. For Example the Bacteria Listeria at 8°C multiplies at twice the rate it does at 5°C! From a legal point of view if you are preparing food commercially you are breaking the law if your fridge temperature exceeds 8°C.
Fridges due the nature of design and the laws of physics have a range of temperatures, not a constant temperature through out. Generally being warmer at the top than at the bottom. By placing the B05strips at several locations (one near the bottom, one near the top and a third in the middle) in the fridge you can check the temperature profile of the fridge, as well as checking the thermostat setting. This is particularly relevant to domestic appliances which generally have a temperature control that is not marked with actual temperatures so there is no way to know what temperature is being achieved. By attaching 3 or 4 thermometer strips to your fridge you will be able to see quickly what temperature you fridge is at and thus able to adjust the temperature control for safest temperature as well as optimum energy efficiency.
